YOGA

MYSORE PROGRAMME

Practice in studio or from the comfort of your home

Mysore refers to the traditional style of teaching Ashtanga yoga: students in the class move through a set sequence of poses on their own while receiving individualised guidance from the teacher. Students typically begin by learning the primary series of Ashtanga yoga and progress at their own pace.

The teacher provides detailed instruction on pranayama (ujjayi breathing), bandhas (locks or internal awarenesses), drishti (gazing points in the asana bringing one into focus), vinyasa (proper breath-movement patterning), and dhyana (meditation).

Led by Sarah Durney Hatcher (the programme director), Mysore practice is between 7am-9am on Thursdays and 7:30am-9:45am on Sundays. Once a month, Sarah teaches a led primary series class which is also part of the Mysore programme. Classes are also livestreamed via ZOOM for those who wish to practice from home.

Students who are new to Mysore-style are always welcome to join the classes and get in touch at yoga@little-bird.ie for any queries.
