History

A little history

Restorative Yoga was developed by B.K.S. Iyengar in the mid-20th century and later popularised by his student Judith Hanson Lasater, who brought it to a wider audience in the 1990s.

It was designed as a deeply supportive practice, using props and long-held poses to allow the body to fully release without any effort or strain. Today it is widely recommended by doctors and therapists as one of the most healing and nourishing forms of movement available.

  • You will spend each pose fully supported, allowing muscles to soften and the nervous system to genuinely unwind
